Jury
A group of persons appointed by Awards Management who will approve the proposed process of the Awards, ratify the nominees shortlisted by the Screening Jury and then vote on the Nominees to determine final winners

Notes:
- Nominees will be the top 5 entries as determined by screening jury votes, validated by Grand Jury and winners will be determined through public voting
- To be decided by ENIL & Jury; out of the scope of verification
- Call for entries
- For the all award categories, songs included in the music of Tamizh, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages films released in the calendar year of 2017 i.e. between Jan 1 to Dec 31, 2017, will be considered for the current year’s Awards. This can be changed at any time and is at the discretion of the Jury.
- For the purpose of verification, the film/Album release date and not the music release date will be considered for participation in the Awards.
- The film/Album should have been released theatrically in India for the first time during the calendar year 2017. It must be over 60 minutes in running time and must be first publicly exhibited before a paying audience in a commercial motion picture house in India between during the said period, following normal commercial release procedures.
- ENIL will also collect music data for the period from up to two large format music stores, Box Office Magazine Publication List and Digital platforms. This will be collated with ENIL’s music database and the Box Office Magazine Publication List to determine the film released during the year.
The list of Film released in 2017 and eligible for participation in the Awards will be made available on www.enil.mirchimusicawards.com. In case, your work does not feature on the website, then kindly contact Mr. Sai Sagar Patnaik, at Tel: 9930913791for the same before September 01, 2018
- Eligibility criteria for participation in the Awards
- All Indian organizations, communities and persons who have been a part of creation of Tamizh, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam film music and non-film music are permitted to participate in the awards i.e. they must be entities with a registered address in India, or persons with Indian citizenship
- Film music - Songs from the films that released within Jan 2017 to Dec, 2017. Private albums - Songs from the private albums that have been first released within Jan 2017 to Dec, 2017. This can be changed at any time and is at the discretion of the Jury.
- Participation of films not produced in India, or foreign language films dubbed into Indian languages will not be considered, unless the category definition allows the same.
- While all attempts will be made to gather film release, film song and artist information and non-film albums and songs and artist information correctly and in entirety, due to the fragmented record-keeping nature of the music industry in India, the complete list of films, albums and songs, and artists of songs may not be available or accurate. Attempts will be made to get a complete list from film bodies and / or a music retail store, on a best effort basis. Consequently, Awards management, Juries and their contractors are not responsible for the completeness of all film, song and artist information, which will be gathered on a best effort basis.
- The objective is to recognize only original music. All efforts will be made to ensure copied music is removed from the songs eligible for participation. However, information on the same is subjective, and 100% accurate identification of such songs cannot be guaranteed
- Copied music will not be considered. If at any time it is brought to the notice of Awards management / jury that a particular song is not original, the same will be investigated and the Jury will determine the appropriate course of action at its discretion. If so determined, nomination may be cancelled, or Winner may need to return certificate and / or trophy
- Albums having less than 3 songs will not qualify for “Album of the year category”
- Recreated songs will qualify for Best Singer (Male & Female) & Best Lyricist categories, as these are exclusive to Tamizh, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam songs
- Chorus voice will not be considered in Male & Female vocalist category
- Jury has the right to include, exclude or re-classify any song from any award category
- Participants understand and agree that mere participation in the Awards does not entitle Participants to win a prize
- Timelines
- Efforts will be made to adhere to the defined timelines. However, the defined timelines are subject to change based on circumstances
- Awards Management and its sub-contractors shall not be held accountable / liable for any disruptions / stoppages / interruptions or cancellation of the Awards or its ceremony or any part of its processes or public voting on account of any factors beyond its control
- Jury evaluation process
- Jury reserves the right to re-categorize any entry which in their view is incorrectly categorized based on the information filled in the application form
- Jury has the right to increase or reduce the number of Nominees in any award category
- Jury’s decision on the short-listing will be final and binding on all participants
- Any additional information, if needed, will be sought from shortlisted nominees. Such information sourced from the participants will become part of the original application.
- The Jury may decide, in order to maintain high standards of these awards, that there could be no winner in a particular category
- The determination of who should receive an award for any award category rests with the Grand Jury
- Public voting
- Top 5 albums shortlisted by the Grand Jury and Top 5 songs from Mirchi top 20 list will be announced to public for voting by Awards Management for the following two Film award categories:
- Song of the year – Mirchi listeners’ choice
- Album of the year – Mirchi listeners’ choice
- The number and type of award categories that could be opened to public voting can be modified and changed at the discretion of the Grand Jury and Awards Management
- Public can vote on the nominees announced for the above categories through SMS and / or internet, as facility made available by the Awards Management
- If the entries are not received in the correct and defined format then they may not be considered for tabulation purposes
- A cap of maximum votes per mobile number and per IP address will be applicable and will be decided internally by the Awards Management
- Last date for public voting will be announced subsequently by the Awards Management (For further details, refer rules and regulations for Public voting)
- Top 5 albums shortlisted by the Grand Jury and Top 5 songs from Mirchi top 20 list will be announced to public for voting by Awards Management for the following two Film award categories:
- Information about songs / albums / people nominated for awards
- If at any time it is found that the information pertaining to any song / album / person participating in the Awards is incorrect, the same could be removed from participation
- Further, any prize given to any such song / album / person could be revoked at the discretion of the Grand Jury, for contravention against these rules and regulation, at any time
- Music determined at any stage to be a significant copy of other previously released music can, at the discretion of the jury, be excluded from the songs eligible for participation
- Information relating to the lyricist, music director, artists, film producer, film director, mixer, arranger etc of a song or album would be based on information provided on the CD cover of the same
- General
- The Jury’s decision on all aspects related to the short listing and winner determination process is final and binding on all Participants
- Decision of Awards Management on all other matters is final and binding on all Participants, Nominees and Finalists, and no correspondence will be entertained on the same
- Participation in the Awards will be construed as an acceptance to the Rules and Regulations stated herein
- Participants understand and agree that mere participation in the Awards does not entitle Participants to win a prize
- Nominated persons could be contacted to provide further information for the final round
- Participants, Nominees and winners permit free of cost the use of their name and factual information about their participation in the public media (for the build-up to the Awards, during the Awards ceremony and after the Awards ceremony) and do not have any right to any revenues earned through intellectual property rights generated by the Awards, if any
- ENIL, the Juries, and its contractors will not be liable for any claims / disputes made by the Participants, Nominees, winners, rights owners, music companies, etc in relation to the Awards
- ENIL and its event partners and subcontractors reserve the right to withdraw, or amend the rules of the Awards at any time and does not take responsibility for any loss or damage that any person or organization may suffer as a result of participating or attempting to participate in the Awards, the Awards being withdrawn or its rules amended
- By using and perusing these Rules you will be deemed to have irrevocably agreed to these Rules
- All participants/listeners, indemnify ENIL, its advertising agencies, advisers, sponsors, its affiliates and/or associated companies against any and all claims of any nature whatsoever arising out of and/or from their participation in any way howsoever in participation of Awards or voting (including, as a result of any act or omission, whether as a result of negligence, misrepresentation, misconduct or otherwise on the part of the Promoter) and/or use of these Rules and Regulations.
- All entrants /listeners in the voting of Listeners Choice Awards release Facebook/ or any other registered platform all liabilities and claims arising out of or in connection with this Awards and these Rules & regulations.
- Enil Disclaims All Liability Whether Based In Contract, Tort (Including Negligence), Strict Liability Or Otherwise, And Does Not Accept Any Liability For Any Loss Or Damage (Direct, Indirect, Punitive, Actual, Consequential, Incidental, Special, Exemplary Or Otherwise) Resulting From Any Use Of, Or Inability To Use, The Site Or Any Other Web Site, Or The Material, Information, Software, Facilities, Services Or Other Content On The Site Or Any Other Web Site, Regardless Of The Basis Upon Which Liability Is Claimed And Even If Enil Has Been Advised Of The Possibility Of Such Loss Or Damage. Without Limitation, You Assume the Entire Cost of All Necessary Servicing, Repair or Correction In The Event Of Any Such Loss or Damage Arising. If Applicable Law Does Not Allow All Or Any Part Of The Above Limitation Of Liability To Apply To You, The Limitations Will Apply To You Only To The Extent Permitted By Applicable Law.
- ENIL cannot and shall not be accountable / liable for any disruptions / stoppages / interruptions or cancellation of the Awards. ENIL and its contractors cannot be held responsible for matters out of its control and for force majeure reasons.
- Additions, deletions and/or modifications to these Rules are at the discretion of ENIL and the Grand Jury, and they may make such additions/ deletions and/ or modifications, at any time before or after the Awards, prospectively or retrospectively
- All disputes relating to or arising out of the Awards shall be subject to the laws of India, and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of competent jurisdiction at Bangalore, India.
- The Participants, Nominees and winners agree that they shall hold harmless ENIL and event Sponsors, their employees, officers, contractors or other persons and shall defend them against any loss, claim, demands, costs, damages, judgments, expenses or liability arising out of or in connection with any or all claims whether or not groundless, that may be brought against ENIL (and the others mentioned above) by any third party in connection with participation in or winning the Award.
